A beautiful home

Although our client had fallen in love with the house, historic changes to the original rectory had created a series of small utilitarian rooms with no room for the generous family space they needed. Our design made room for a modern living space by accommodating a scullery, utility and WC in the stables, which are attached to the house.

Creative adaption

Working with Olivine Design the interiors were refurnished, with future plans for an attic office and kid’s den underway. As part of the remodelling an old boot room was removed from the exterior of the kitchen, restoring the elegance of the original elevation and the connection to the garden.

Fit for the future

The project also included comprehensive and sensitive repairs to the historic building. By repairing the roof, windows and floors and remodelling the interior the project has breathed new life into this beautiful rectory for future generations.

We couldn’t be more delighted with the architects who led a full restoration of our house, which is Grade II* Listed, with a National Trust covenant. They navigated the complexities of heritage planning with skill and diplomacy, working seamlessly with multiple departments to ensure every detail was respected. The result is a beautifully sympathetic restoration that honours the character of the house while giving us a space that truly works for modern family life.
