What we do

New architecture in heritage settings

We offer a full architectural service from the initial brief to the completion of a project on site. Our feasibility studies and options appraisals are prepared in discussion with our clients, guiding them through heritage planning processes and technical design. Our experience includes master planning, new buildings in heritage settings, adaptive reuse and extensions and alterations to listed buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, and landscape features.

Creative conservation

As a team of accredited conservation architects, architects, and technicians, we are committed to high-quality repair and project management of sensitive projects. We are experienced in leading change for historic sites, assisting in grant applications, and providing modern access and sustainability improvements in complex settings.

We also carry out condition surveys which involve diagnosing complicated issues in historic fabric which in turn informs our design thinking. Our understanding of the past highlights the importance of longevity, sustainability, and maintenance in new design work.

Heritage consultancy

Members of our team are retained advisors for World Heritage Sites, Grade I listed estates, churches, and cathedrals. This combination of advisory roles and hands on construction experience informs our strategic advice and master planning process. We are experienced in supporting clients to obtain permissions and grant aid (including the National Lottery Heritage Fund). We provide heritage impact assessments, condition reports, and Conservation Management Plans for a variety of rural or urban heritage sites ranging from palaces and historic houses to cottages and landscape structures.
