We are seeking a trainee Architect, either post Part I or post Part II. Excellent design skills, related to an enthusiasm for both historic buildings and new design, are essential. Being open minded and willing to discuss options is also seen as critical. This should be combined with an ability to take initiative.

A successful applicant would show confidence in presentation of ideas and have the ability to diagrammatically express them. Experience of collaborative interdisciplinary working, alongside good communication skills, is highly desirable. CAD ability is important. The practice uses Vectorworks for drawing but we also value a proficiency in sketching.

The post is to work as an Architectural Assistant involved in projects through all work stages from inception, design, planning, production information to delivery on site. The projects vary in size and complexity and engage with a variety of building materials. An interest in and a keenness to learn about construction, repair and conservation of historic buildings is most important. It would be beneficial for the applicant to have previously worked with historic buildings.
