The Old Rectory is an existing Grade II* building. Nick Cox Architects obtained planning permission and Listed Building Consent for the construction of an Orangery extension and a Kitchen extension on the ground floor and other internal alterations throughout the existing property, including alterations to existing bathrooms and modifications to the existing mechanical and electrical systems.
The Orangery extension was not part of the contract works which took place between 2010-2011 for the Kitchen extension. Particular attention was given to the design of the new brickwork walls and openings and to the stonework. Likewise, specialist joinery works included authentic replication of original features and high quality bespoke new doors and windows to match the existing.
The project was shortlisted for a Georgian Group/Savills Architectural award and commended in 2011.
