Down the drive,
Under the early yellow leaves of oaks.
The bridge, the waterfall, the Temple Pool
And there they burst on us, the onion domes.

Experiencing India in the Cotswolds
Sezincote was built from 1805 in the aesthetic of northern Indian Mughal and is set in the heart of the Cotswolds. Nestled into the hillside, protected by the landscape and using natural water sources to enliven the gardens: it is an extraordinary estate. Nick Cox Architects have been working at Sezincote since 2019, responsible for the repair strategy and works to the listed fabric.
Signposting a clear path through complex legislation
The house is Grade I listed; the estate is in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a conservation area. Navigating a complex planning context, Nick Cox Architects have repaired roofs and garden structures, the Indian Bridge, the Temple Grotto and the Orangery Tunnel.
