An inclusive vision for a medieval site

Bristol Cathedral has been a place of worship since 1140. As Cathedral Architect, Kathryn Harris advises Dean and Chapter on realising their vision for an inclusive and creative future site, while protecting the Grade I listed historic fabric of the building.

Selected projects

Alongside water management and decarbonisation investigations, projects have included a full condition survey of the site; accessibility improvements to enable step free access on the visitor route; and re-ordering the Seafarers’ Chapel to provide a welcoming smaller worship space. A major organ refurbishment project was completed in summer 2025.
